Role Description:
The Senior Finance Executive plays a pivotal role within the finance department, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. This position entails comprehensive responsibilities aimed at ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the organization. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Performing a wide range of accounting activities, including full sets of financial processes, accounts payable and receivable processes, general ledger management, account reconciliation, and audit schedules for both local and overseas entities.
- Reviewing all waterfall/retrocession calculations, payments, and coordinating with other departments to address any discrepancies.
- Assisting in monthly and annual reporting, including management reports, variance analysis, budgeting, and treasury cash flow analysis.
- Participating in the audit process, such as attending to auditor's queries and drafting entity financial statements.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and group consolidation.
- Assisting in quarterly GST reporting.
- Developing and ensuring the implementation of accounting procedures and policies to ensure compliance with local statutory standards and practices.
- Driving implementation of new processes, policies, and systems when required.
- Liaising with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, and bank contacts.
- Reviewing and providing guidance to junior finance executives.
- Performing other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of work experience as a senior role.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.) is advantageous.
- Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
