Job Description:

As a Project Director in the oil and gas industry, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of complex projects within the sector. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Your role will involve leading multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with clients and partners, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will play a key role in driving project success, delivering value to stakeholders, and achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction for oil and gas projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, client expectations, and industry best practices.
  2. Lead project planning activities, including scope definition, budget estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation, to establish clear project objectives and deliverables.
  3. Develop and maintain project execution plans, risk management strategies, and quality assurance programs to ensure project success and mitigate potential risks.
  4. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal teams, to facilitate collaboration and resolve issues.
  5. Monitor project progress, performance metrics, and key milestones, and take proactive measures to address deviations from plan and optimize project outcomes.
  6. Manage project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance, ensuring cost control measures are implemented and financial targets are met.
  7. Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier management, to secure necessary resources and services for project execution.
  8. Oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance on project sites, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  9. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
  10. Provide regular project updates, status reports, and performance reviews to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
  2. Proven experience (15+ years) in project management, with a focus on oil and gas projects, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
  3. Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, including technical, regulatory, and commercial aspects, and familiarity with industry standards and best practices.
  4. Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion.
  5. Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and resolve conflicts in a dynamic project environment.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  8. Experience working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire diverse teams to achieve project objectives.
  9. Knowledge of project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent, for planning, scheduling, and tracking project progress.
  10. Willingness to travel to project sites, both domestic and international, as required, and work in challenging and remote environments typical of the oil and gas industry.
