Responsibilities of duties
1. Lay out a vision for safety
2. Create, maintain and improve policies and systems related to safety—all designed to create a culture of continuous improvement.
3. Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process.
4. Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
5. Perform regular patrols, inspections, evaluations, and/or walk-throughs of facilities and/or properties, ie office, warehouse, workshop and site works.
6. Identify safety, environmental health non-compliance and recommend measures to rectify.
7. Investigate incident or near-misses and lead root cause analysis.
8. Prepare safe work procedures for site activities.
9. Conduct toolbox meeting and other ongoing learning opportunities for staff.
10. Promote and reinforce safe behaviors across projects and job sites.
11. Review and approve subcontractor plans and safety standards.
12. Liaise with authorities and clients on matters pertaining to environmental, workplace safety issues.
13. Manage safety complaints or safety concerns.
14. Review OHSMS and provide recommendations for improvement of safety.
15. Create and track safety-related objectives, metrics, and goals for the organization.
16. Create first-aid procedures and safety check on equipments.
Job Requirement
1. Candidate must possess a WSQ Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Environment, Health and Safety related from approved institutes.
2. Min 8 years of working experience as Safety Officer in the petrochemical plant or process industry
3. Registered with MOM as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer and have been practicing as WSHO for at least 5 years.
4. Valid WSH Safety /BCSS/ First Aid Certificate
5. Well versed with MOM requirement
6. Ability to work under pressures in a fast pace environment
7. Able to start work on short notice
8. Mandarin language/speaking is welcome
