Job Description & Requirements
The Engineer designs and develops machinery and its parts. He/She creates models and handles system upgrade. He/She resolves technical issues and manages simple engineering projects. The Engineer also develops plans to improve production efficiency, while complying with Workplace Safety and Health procedures and other regulatory requirements. He/She leads Associate Engineers/Assistant Engineers, and may be required to work with other departments.
~ Assess and model engineering situations to solve precision engineering issues.
~ Assess technical drawings and blue prints to apply engineering solutions.
~ Assess the impact of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing on manufacturing processes to select suitable engineering interventions.
~ Create contamination control plan to meet quality and safety conditions.
~ Create the machining process plan to decide on a suitable precision machining process.
~ Create welding inspection specification plan to follow joining conditions.
~ Design mechanical and electrical systems for automated industrial machines.
~ Include engineering optics and optical measurement modules to inspect components.
~ Manage Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) methods.
~ Provide design solutions for products to meet product conditions.
~ Review adhesive bonding technologies to meet precision joining conditions.
~ Review and use laser cutting machine technology to enhance the precision machining process.
~ Review characterisation of metals and non-metals to decide on suitable materials.
~ Review high speed machining processes and cutting tools to improve the precision machining process.
~ Review static and dynamic engineering systems to select suitable engineering systems for applications in manufacturing.
~ Review surface coating technologies to meet corrosion prevention conditions.
~ Review the metal heat treatment process to decide on a suitable treatment process.
~ Review welding technologies to meet precision joining conditions.
~ Use engineering metrology principles to decide measurement conditions.
~ Use engineering optics and optical metrology.
