Purpose
• Overhaul company products to the required quality standard in a timely manner.
• Test company products to establish and record performance.
• Work safely in the workshop.
• Assist in trouble shooting as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in all overhaul related activities.
Main Duties
• Overhaul & test overhaul products to the required quality standard in a timely manner.
• Minimise damage to components during the overhaul process (following procedures, using
correct tooling and best practice methods).
• Work in accordance with company defined overhaul procedures.
• Work in a safe manner at all times.
• Assemble and maintain fixtures and tooling.
• Monitor test rig & tooling condition for safety and performance, highlight to supervisor any
issues in a timely manner.
• Perform preventative maintenance on test rigs and tooling.
• Calibrate test rigs and tooling as required.
• Accurately record overhaul & test information.
• Maintain cleanliness in the workshop.
Essential Qualifications/Key competencies
• Practical and ‘hands-on’
• Methodical approach to tasks
• Have an attention to detail
• Multi-skilled fitter / mechanic capable of working with a wide variety of equipment
• Experienced in manual power tool set-up and operation (Drill, press etc)
• Practical experience in a service workshop / mechanical maintenance department
• Competent in use of basic measurement tools (rule, micrometer, vernier caliper) and
inspection of own work
• Experienced in bench fitting and use of manual / hand tools
• Experienced in assembly and disassembly of mechanical components
• Understanding of good H&S practice in the workshop
• Trained in safe lifting and slinging methods (heavy components!)
• Able to clearly document and record data
