ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join the Antibody Engineering team. The job function includes molecular and cell biology work and contributing to a fast-paced team with a cutting-edge technology platform.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute strategies for cloning of antibodies and other proteins of interest using standard techniques in molecular biology
  • Maintain cell culture under aseptic conditions and manage small-scale antibody production and purification
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of all laboratory work and experiments in electronic files
  • Contribute to the overall safety, operations and organization of the laborator
  • Adapt new methods to existing procedures and modify current experiments through scientific knowledge and intuition
  • Active participation in team meetings and presentations as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Biology or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience in a Molecular Biology or Immunology research laboratory
  • Good experience in molecular biology technologies (PCR, cloning and sequencing) and antibody development assays (ELISA, flow cytometry, protein engineering)
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Fast learner with an ability to work independently and as a team in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present results and thoughts in a clear, timely manner and possessing troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Disciplined, well-organized, and with positive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge in antibody engineering and antibody-based binding assays. Previous participation in the discovery and development of an antibody (or other biologics) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with phage display and antibody affinity maturation
  • Industry experience will be a plus.
