Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Navigation and Communications Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. Based in Singapore or India, this role involves traveling to various shipyards and anchorages, providing expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for our state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational excellence of our maritime clients, delivering solutions that enhance safety and efficiency at sea.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to shipyards and anchorages to perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of navigation and communication systems.
- Conduct on-site training for clients' crews, ensuring they are proficient in the use and maintenance of our systems.
- Provide technical support, advice, and solutions to clients, both remotely and on-site.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product reliability and serviceability.
- Prepare and submit detailed service reports, documenting all work performed and recommendations for future service.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, regulations, and technology advancements.
Qualifications:
- NITEC or Higher NITEC, Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Strong knowledge of maritime navigation and communication systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide training and support to clients.
- Willingness to travel extensively to various locations, including shipyards and anchorages.
- Ability to work independently in challenging environments.
- A General Operator Certificate (GOC) is a plus.
