Job Description:
1. Database Management: Design, implement, and manage database systems, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
2. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and proactively optimize database configurations, queries, and indexes for optimal speed and efficiency.
3. Data Security: Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data, including user access controls, encryption, and data masking.
4. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime in case of system failures or disasters.
5. Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database software upgrades and patch management to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
6. Database Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, configurations, procedures, and best practices.
7. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database relat-ed issues, collaborating with development teams and other stakeholders as needed.
8. Capacity Planning: Monitor database resource usage and plan for capacity growth to meet organizational needs.
9. Automation: Implement automation scripts and tools for routine database tasks to improve efficiency.
10. Database Security Audits: Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Database Administrator.
- Proficien-cy in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
- Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g. Shell, SQL, PowerShell).
- Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese so as to communicate effectively with our China counterpart and Chinese-speaking customers.
