We are looking for a talented Applications Database Administrator (APPS DBA) to join our team!
As the APPS DBA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our applications' databases. You will partner with our application team to implement, maintain, and troubleshoot database systems, providing exceptional support to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administration and support for Oracle Database and MS SQL Server across projects and clients.
- Develop and manage database objects, including tables, indexes, procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Collaborate with developers on PL/SQL programs and shell scripting.
- Optimize database queries to ensure efficient performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and database-related issues.
- Establish and implement standards and procedures to monitor and enhance database capacity and performance.
- Coordinate with clients and application project managers on database infrastructure implementation and setup.
- Plan, schedule, and track database system version upgrades and server patches.
- Design and implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Install, configure, and manage database backups and day-to-day operations.
- Provide support for application installation, setup, and maintenance across SIT, UAT, and Production environments.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience administering Oracle RDBMS on Solaris/Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with Oracle Golden Gate and MS SQL Server a plus.
- Strong proficiency in PL/SQL.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting and maintaining Oracle databases.
- Experience with database security hardening, monitoring, and capacity planning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with customers, project managers, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining optimal database system availability and performance.
- Experience with shell scripting is preferred.
