Job Responsibilities:
- Immediate handling of incoming purchase orders from vessels
- Send orders to relevant suppliers for quotations
- To negotiate prices and order follow up with suppliers
- Evaluate incoming quotations and confirm to choose supplier after approval by Superintendent/Technical Manager or higher authority
- To liaise closely with warehouse, and suppliers and to ensure on-time delivery
- Give forwarding instructions to the supplier
- Keep the vessels and Vessel Managers updated about deliveries
- Contact with vessel’s port agents
- Custom Clearance
- Make necessary formal bookings for service and repairs based on the practical arrangements made by the Vessel Manager
- Maintained and update supplier’s database on various platforms.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma holder in a related field/discipline
- A self-motivated individual with a minimum 3 years experience in marine industries is a MUST
- Possess initiative and able to multi-task
- Resourceful with good negotiation skills
- Tech Savvy, adaptable to working with ERP
