Responsibilities
- Proficient in performing molecular testing for foodborne bacteria and viruses in food, water and environmental samples
- Provide support to Supervisor, and display leadership to lead the team in the execution of duties in a professional manner
- Procure test kits, reagents and consumables required for molecular testing
- Familiar with the use of PCR and Real-time PCR machines, automated nucleic acid extraction systems and able to interpret/troubleshoot PCR data
- Provide technical training and advice for the Team to ensure that scheduled testing and release activities are completed in a timely manner
- Familiar with the laboratory quality system in accordance with SAC-SINGLAS ISO 17025:2017, and to perform activities to upkeep the laboratory’s quality system.
- Eager and keen to contribute to ideas for laboratory test improvement and advancement; opportunities for enhanced and further method development

- Excellent Verbal Communication and Writing Skills, including communication with clients in the technical forte
- Meticulous, responsible and highly motivated individual
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
- 5-day work week; may be rostered to work on weekends / later shift timings
