The Marketing People & Organisation team is a true Business Partner and an integral part of the BU. We provide the right support first time every time to our diverse stakeholders; always managing expectations that balance the needs of the organisation and employees. The team is empowered to make decisions, challenge the status quo and knows that the correct path can be the hardest.


The majority of the Marketing People & Organisation team is based in Singapore supporting the Asia Pacific Region, where the BU’s largest commercial hub is based. Countries outside this region include UK, Brazil, Chile, South Africa, Peru and US are supported by the Manager – People & Organisation, Marketing. The Singapore team manages the global Marketing policy, processes and systems.


What you’ll do

The Specialist - People & Organisation is responsible to ensure the timely processing of the monthly payroll calendar, with an ability to work on stringent deadlines, ensuring a high level of accuracy at all times.


Delivery & Performance

Payroll & Tax reporting

  • Responsible for the full spectrum of tasks regarding the monthly payroll for Singapore and China, approximately staff strength of 500 headcounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with the local statutory requirements and regulations.
  • Keeping abreast of various employment laws and making recommendations to ensure compliance.
  • Be the first point of contact in handling payroll queries and updates and resolve issue promptly.
  • Collaboration with Corporate Finance as applicable with associated payroll requests and reporting.
  • Partner with Global Shared Services (GSS) Payroll, Third Party Payroll Vendor and Tax Vendor to provide tactical support for all data & payroll requests to ensure compliance, quality and accuracy of data. Hold discussions with the GSS Payroll, Third Party Payroll Vendor and Tax Vendor to confirm whether an observation during the verification is a genuine problem.
  • Responsible for annual income tax processing and submission and tax clearance (IR21) for foreigner leavers.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll and tax, with appropriate quality checks and auditing.
  • Proactively identify ways to improve Payroll and Tax processes and systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Submission of government claims such as Childcare Leave, NS, Maternity claims and other statutory claims.
  • Support annual salary review and budgeting exercise.

Other Responsibilities

  • Be a dependable resource and provides professional support to the People & Organization (P&O) team in the provision of operational support across a range of Payroll & Tax activities.
  • Translate policy intent and directions into workable system solutions on the P&O Payroll Systems platform, and propose new work processes to ensure the most effective and efficient method for implementation.
  • Partner the team in the Marketing roll-out of P&O information systems.
  • Manage and support on urgent issue escalations between GSS support team and People & Organization Team. Participate as a Payroll Team member in the support of key projects & initiatives.
  • Assist in ad hoc tasks/projects which might be assigned from time to time.

What we’re looking for:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or relevant disciplines.


Specific Knowledge requirements:

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in Payroll and Tax
  • Management: Stakeholder management and influence
