GL Account Specialist

The GL Account Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger. They will assist in the month-end closing process, perform account reconciliations, and analyze financial data. The GL Account Specialist will also collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and provide support during audits. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles are essential for success in this role.

Contract Duration: 1 Year

Salary up to $4,000

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to GL accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules for audits or regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure adherence to changing accounting standards.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits as required.
  • Participate in special projects, such as process improvement initiatives or system upgrades.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in general accounting or related role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP)
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audit support preferred
