Job description
The Research Officer in Bioinformatics will be instrumental in propelling our research projects forward through expert analysis of single-cell and spatial omics data, along with image analysis and the integration of diverse multi-omics datasets. This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of leading immunologists, oncologists, pathologists, and AI scientists. The candidate will contribute to pioneering research involving a broad spectrum of data types, from mouse and human to cancer and various disease datasets, leveraging their bioinformatics expertise to drive innovations in disease understanding and treatment strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the analysis of single-cell and spatial omics datasets to uncover cellular heterogeneity, spatial organization, and gene expression patterns in diverse biological contexts.
- Conduct advanced image analysis to extract quantitative data from biological imagery, employing cutting-edge computational techniques.
- Develop and implement integrative multi-omics analysis pipelines to synthesize information across various data types (genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, etc.), facilitating a holistic understanding of biological systems and disease mechanisms.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists, to design experiments and interpret findings within the context of complex disease states.
- Contribute to data management and curation efforts, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of datasets.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bioinformatics methodologies and stay informed about new technologies and computational tools.
- Communicate findings through scientific publications, presentations, and reports for both academic and non-academic audiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience in omics data analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, and in the use of bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical data analysis and machine learning applications.
- Established publication record in peer-reviewed journals within the bioinformatics or related fields.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of both autonomous work and team collaboration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with server-based and high-performance computing.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and software.
- Understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and cellular biology principles.
- Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets from various omics platforms.
