Application Support Specialist

We are a locally based company with customers and products mainly in the Healthcare and Hospitality industry. Our focus had always been geared towards the creating of solutions through innovative use of technology. We are therefore recruiting candidates in our expansion.


Job Description


The primary responsibility of the Application Support Specialist will be to provide functional and technical support for the company’s products, directly to our customer base. This is a full-time position based in Singapore; this is a technical role, supporting mainly Windows and Linux based client applications.


The successful individual will be able to find solutions to complex problems whilst holding to the highest level with regards to quality and technical expertise. Working as part of a global support team, the ability to build productive working relationships with customers and colleagues will make you successful in this role.


· Respond promptly to support requests and inquiries from clients.

· Actively monitor and respond to alerts to company’s systems and infrastructure supported

· Support customers and resolve issues related to inhouse developed applications such as Digital Signages, Facility Booking systems, Interactive kiosks, Smart Room Automation, electronic Meal Ordering systems.

· Work directly with new customers to coordinate the deployment and configuration of the company’s products.

· Manage distribution and installation of software enhancements and upgrades.

· Work with our infrastructure team to test and complete various server and network upgrade projects.

· IT related Configuring and troubleshooting


Job Requirements


The successful candidate will have a formal technology certification or several years practical working experience in IT support. You will be able to manage and prioritise, at times, a high number of requests and will have demonstrated the ability to maintain high levels of productivity with minimal supervision.

· Respond promptly to client needs and solicit feedback to improve service,

· Take pride in resolving customer issues – using strong analytical skills to correctly identify the root cause, working on or actively contributing to the resolution and ensuring its successful rollout

· Perform well and be comfortable in high-pressure or time critical situations, whilst always maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Be willing to assume responsibility and make timely decisions, including to escalate when appropriate

· Have effective verbal and written communication skills

· Have experience supporting Linux based server applications, using Linux command line tools such as grep, sed and awk

· Be able to perform basic network troubleshooting and configuration tasks using tools such as telnet, ssh, tcpdump and ncat


Desirable


· Knowledge of or experience with message middleware packages

· Experience with or knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure

· Knowledge of relational database systems and knowledge of SQL queries
