Job Description
- To assess, diagnose, manage and treat patients with swallowing, speech and cognitive communication impairments.
- To formulate appropriate treatment plans and goals within the timeframe. Implement treatment plan. Re-evaluate and modify the treatment plan as required.
- To work with a multi-disciplinary team, which includes attending to weekly case management meetings, participating in discharge planning in consultation with the patients, their families, the multi-disciplinary team and other external agencies involved.
- Communicate as required with other members of the team.
- To maintain an accurate and timely patient record by documenting in the patients’ medical case notes after attending to the patients.
- Professional
- To practice Speech Therapy in safe, ethical and legal manner. Practice should reflect consideration of socio-cultural values of the patient, family and significant others.
- To maintain absolute confidentiality in matters pertaining to the organization, department and patients. Confidentiality of the patients’ records is to be maintained at all times for the privacy of the patients.
- To take responsibility for own professional learning and growth.
- To participate in research or quality improvement projects, where relevant and required.
- Participates and contributes in department meetings, peer sharing, and in-service trainings.
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech Therapy that is recognized by AHPC
- Post-graduate qualification or certification in ‘Speech Therapy’ is an advantage
- Registered with the Singapore Allied Health Professional Council with valid practicing certificate.
- Highly encouraged to be a member of the Speech and Language Therapy Singapore (SALTS) association.
- 1-2 years of working experience in the relevant field, with full registered status with AHPC being of advantage.
