Roles & Responsibilities
- Improve the timeliness and accuracy of accounting close
- Manage and participate in all day-to-day accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounting
- Responsible for the preparation and approval of all journal entries, as well as G/L account, Bank and Credit Card reconciliations
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance purposes
- Review and revise documentation, processes, and procedures as needed to improve accuracy, increase transparency, and improve control activities
- Monthly financial reporting including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and variance analysis.
- Assist the COO with financial matters such as planning, simulation, pricing, analysing
- Review financial results versus budget and prior periods, identifying trends and concerns
- Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting, update cash forecast
- Deliver financial information to Group finance
- Follow up instruction from Group finance in terms of financial matters including consolidation closing
- Additional tasks as requested
Skills and Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (Logistics background preferred)
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Hands on experience with Xero is a major plus
- Excellent understanding of, and experience with FP&A
- Advanced MS Excel skills, MS Office proficiency
- Highly organised with a keen attention to detail, proactive mentality and deadline oriented
- Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities, multi-task, and maintain a positive attitude with strong leadership and project management skills.
- Able to see the big picture in terms of financial reporting accuracy and quality, and can build the appropriate accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting processes to support the vision
- Leadership, resilience, and persistence to implement change and collaboration that leads a team through the obstacles or challenges that come with change
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills, and experience implementing process improvements, ability to work independently.
