Role Responsibilities
This role will be based in Singapore and directly report to VP Finance and work closely with CEO and the senior management team. Able to travel as needed.
Controllership (70%)
- Manage and oversee the entire full spectrum of accounting function, including GL, AP, and AR.
- Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements, including all entities (VFT Singapore, VFT India, Liv Energy JV, VFT Africa).
- Lead the annual audit process to ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage tax filing (GST/WHT/CIT) compliance and submissions.
- Establish and maintain robust accounting policies, coordinating with department heads for group functions such as governance, risk management, capital planning and stakeholder management.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, implementing effective accounts receivable collection strategies to improve cash flow, and collaborating with BD team to reduce aged past dues.
- Handle transfer pricing for intercompany transactions and ensure tax compliance according to the tax policies.
- Implement financial controls for projects, monitoring and reporting on project cost budget vs actuals.
FP&A (20%)
- Support annual OKR & Budgeting planning, collaborating with key stakeholders to establish and track OKRs aligned with the overall corporate strategy.
- Conduct monthly analysis of COGS and operating expenses, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost optimizations.
- Assist in monthly order-to-sales opportunities, identifying risk and opportunities in achieving sales forecast.
- Build strong working relationship with head of department to coordinate, collaborate and align on all financial reporting matters.
- Support in monthly cash flow planning and analysis reporting, identifying cash optimization opportunities.
- Assist in venture debt, trade financing, and working capital financing engagements with financiers.
Project (10%)
- Lead the migration to SAP B1, ensuring the integrity of data migration and smooth operations.
- Spearhead cross-departmental training in SAP usage.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Minimum of combined 8 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance related roles.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance Manager role.
- Attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of tax laws, GST, compliance and planning.
- Focused, efficient, and goal oriented.
- Experience in establishing and monitoring internal controls and accounting policies.
- Preferably progressive experience in manufacturing / deep tech companies or similar dynamic business.
- Chartered accountant or equivalent are highly preferred (CA,CPA).
- Familiarity with ERP and Financial Software such as XERO and SAP
