We are looking for resourceful and service-oriented individuals to join the Operations & Facilities Management Department which oversees the operation and maintenance of Government cemeteries, crematoria and columbaria. You will be stationed at a crematorium at Mandai and will play a key role in providing after-death care services.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Lead a team to work with the existing construction and consultant team to oversee the progress of the construction works and subsequently take over the Mechanical & Electrical systems/equipment and building facilities & structures in the various construction phases.
- Lead and manage a group of technical and operations staff in the safe and efficient operation of the crematorium.
- Lead and manage the maintenance team of the crematorium to achieve optimal maintenance standards.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programmes for the crematorium facilities and equipment
- Manage operations for special annual festivals such as Qing Ming
- Review and monitor cremation processes to enhance productivity and service standards.
- Handle and manage feedback/appeals from members of public.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of working experience in environmental public health, or other fields with operations or service management in a leadership position
- Experience in the operations and maintenance of process plant equipment would be an advantage
- Able to lead, interact and foster teamwork
- Able to handle adverse situations and difficult customers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, e.g. excel functions, creative presentations
- Good problem-solving, writing & communication skills
- Keen to take initiatives and carry out plans
- Pay attention to the finer details
- Organised and able to multi-task
- Mature, independent, responsible and resourceful
- Self-driven and always ready to strive for improvement
- Willing to work in after-death care services environment
- Able and willing to work on weekends and public holidays
