Job Summary
The regional accountant is in charge of key accounting processes for gategroup entities in both Singapore and Hong Kong. This includes timely customer collection, recognition of HR and agencies' costs and liabilities, and participation in annual audits. He/She liaises with heads of department in our regional head office and within our operations to ensure the accuracy of reporting data and provide on-time information to the management. The regional accountant takes part in ad hoc projects to improve the company's business processes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for accounting functions duties including AP, AR, GL & and account reconciliations for a group of companies based in Singapore and Hong Kong
- Ensure with the billing and commercial departments the on-time collection from Airline and Food services customers, record provisions, issue Statement of Account
- Engage with the HR department for any payroll-related matters, including work insurance and claim, contribution to CPF and local equivalent, month-end accrual
- Liaise with finance counterparts in other gategroup offices for the invoicing and settlement of intercompany transactions
- Maintain fixed assets register and participate in the recognition of long-term leases according to IFRS16 requirements
- work with the finance teams on month-end financial reporting tasks including
* Recognition of GRNI
* Computation of material costs, reconciliation of material movements
- Prepare audit schedules for tasks mentioned above
- Perform ad hoc projects/reports as assigned
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience gained from an audit firm, MNC, or sizable organization.
Technical Skills
Certification, licenses, and registration
Proficient in MS Office applications and experience in using SAP and Hyperion is an advantage.
Good command of written and spoken English. Chinese would be a plus.
