Lead, Data Team (Product Owner & Scrum Master)

We are helping our client, a leading MNC company, to look for an experienced and proactive Data Team Lead (Product Owner & Scrum Master) to be part of their business transformation team. As the Lead for the Data Team, you will function both as the Product Owner and Scrum Master, overseeing project deliverables, guiding the team through the agile process, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data products and solutions. This dual role demands both a strategic vision for product development and a deep understanding of the scrum framework to optimize team performance.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Engage and collaborate with team members from various cultures, religions, and backgrounds, demonstrating sensitivity and inclusivity in all interactions.

2. Global Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with stakeholders across different time zones, from the Americas to Asia, ensuring effective and timely communication.

3. Travel: Be prepared to travel 1-2 times per year for team alignments, stakeholder meetings, and other necessary engagements.

Product Owner

1. Vision & Strategy: Define the vision for the data products and ensure that it aligns with the overall company objectives. Continually refine this vision based on stakeholder feedback and changing organizational needs.

2. Backlog Management: Develop, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that the team always works on high-value features.

3. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for all stakeholders, including internal departments, external partners, and clients.

4. Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring the team understands the context and significance of their work.

5. Acceptance Criteria: Clearly define and communicate acceptance criteria for backlog items to ensure quality and accuracy in deliverables.

Scrum Master

1. Agile Process Leadership: Guide the team on the use of Scrum practices and values to get the most out of self-organization.

2. Facilitate Ceremonies: Organize and lead key agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

3. Team Health & Performance: Monitor team dynamics, resolve conflicts, and remove impediments to the team’s progress.

4. Continuous Improvement: Lead the team in continuously improving their processes and techniques.

5. Coaching: Coach the team in becoming self-organized and cross-functional. Help the team to adopt best practices in data analytics and engineering

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

· Minimum 7 years’ experience, with proven experience in a product owner and scrum master role, ideally in data-centric environments.

· Strong understanding of the Agile framework and the ability to apply best practices.

· Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms.

· Familiarity with data visualization, data engineering, and machine learning concepts is a plus.

· Prior experience with Data related applications (Business Intelligence) is desirable.

· Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
