Job Description: Senior Product Manager
As a Senior Product Manager, you will work on our core technology enabling our multi-currency payments and remittance services. You will have the opportunity to directly work on payments technology and bank integrations - expect to cover complex integrations and core logic around card payments, remittance, FX exchange, and more!
You’ll need to be technically proficient and comfortable picking up new technical knowledge quickly. We’re looking for someone who is unintimidated by complexity and willing to roll up their sleeves and dive into the details with our world-class engineers. We want someone who is agile and undaunted by challenges - you should be prepared to build things faster than any industry norm and to always be willing to try new things. At the same time, you should be able to articulate risks clearly and demonstrate great judgment in your recommendations. You should also be familiar with, and able to produce detailed technical documentation. Experience on internal process redesign is also a plus, as we grow and scale the company.
We expect our senior product managers to develop and drive relevant product metrics, as well as a keen sense of competitive insights. We also expect excellent execution and the ability for PMs to coordinate seamlessly with teams of engineers, Design colleagues (and sometimes external partners) to deliver delightful experiences in record time.
You Will:
- Be part of our mission to develop innovative and industry-leading product strategies and roadmaps that uniquely serve our customers and differentiate us from the competition.
- Focus on technical product management which involves coordination of multiple teams delivering scalable technical functionalities
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog, and execute on delivering a delightful experience to our customers.
- Collaborate across functions in the company such as marketing, operations, finance, and other stakeholders to define our go-to-market plans and scale our business processes.
- As part of our continuous effort to improve our products, you will define success metrics and constantly measure the impact of our work as we grow.
You have:
- 5-8 years of outstanding and relevant product management and technical experiences in developing technically complex products. We are industry-agnostic but knowledge of Payments is a plus, and the learning curve will be steeper for someone who does not have Payment industry experience.
- You have a track record showing your ability to work on complex technical issues and integrations
- You should be comfortable spending time in deep discussions with senior engineers (both internal and external) and should be comfortable/proficient working on new integrations with external parties
- You are comfortable articulating the technical risks of various options (including build vs. buy), and know how to articulate the nuances and trade-offs of various options clearly
- You’re the type of person who finds problems others may not have seen yet (even cross-function) and proposes pragmatic solutions, prioritizing company needs over team boundaries.
- You are interested in writing out and structuring good technical documentations and requirements
- You’re prepared to dive deep into workflows/processes to help us scale while ensuring a delightful customer experience, working across teams to try and ensure that nothing is missed and no customer is left behind.
- People naturally look to you for leadership/guidance and you’re prepared (both in experience and temperament) to make weighty judgment calls. At the same time you’re always humble and know the limits of your expertise and when to escalate decisions/seek further alignment.
- You should also be a master of stakeholder management (or be prepared to become one) - in particular, we work closely with many external partners/vendors and you should be savvy about how to manage our partners/relationships/commercials to ensure our business needs are met.
- Depending on your seniority, the role has potential to be a managerial one in the medium term as we grow and scale the Product function.
