Opportunity snapshot:


The Head of Transfer Agency (TA) Operations support role will be based out of our Singapore office and will be responsible for the TA operational support delivery to the local TA operational teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok. It will also support the execution of strategic initiatives in order to grow the business and meet organizational goals in the Asian region.

This role is focused on a range of products with the portfolio consisting of:

  • Unit registry platforms across 3 locations and establishing support models for the local operating models and services (BPO) focused on enabling fund managers and transfer agencies
  • Including supporting an enterprise digital platform for advisors and investors for Transfer Agency activities

Direct reports:

The role will be responsible for the local operational support functions for the TA operations teams in Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Overall management and leadership of the Transfer Agency support function in Asia
  • Ensure that effective systems, resources, structure and expertise are in place and updated to support current and projected business levels related to Transfer Agency
  • Deliver effective quality and mitigate operational risks of Asian Transfer Agency services through projects and operational support oversight
  • Support and promote the development of an Asian operating model for the transfer agency : co-ordinate implementation and continued effective operation of Transfer Agency platform and model across relevant Asian jurisdictions
  • Initially self-start but grow role into leading a team in region with a global perspective to deliver quality end to end Transfer Agency services.
  • Continually enhance the Transfer Agency service support offering through knowledge of technology, competitors, industry, and the regulatory environment.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other senior management to deliver standardised best practice service models.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met from a Transfer Agency perspective, working closely with the TA operations senior management and technology teams globally.
  • Contribute to the management, strategic planning and direction of the Asian Regional Transfer Agency business.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product, Technology and other business partners in region, developing strategies and oversee project plans meeting operational goals and participating in business development.
  • Ensure a robust and appropriate governance oversight model is in place to manage offshore and cross jurisdictional sites and vendors, as necessary.
  • Manage end to end operational risk, including strong resiliency and continuity of business plans, as it relates to Transfer Agency support activities.
  • Work closely with groups internally to deliver projects in the region ensuring adherence to internal policy and standards.
  • Assist with oversight on TA client change and implementation.
  • Work with Client and SS&C teams to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure internal stakeholders and Directors are aware of any potential areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with FA and Trustee(s) (where applicable) to ensure smooth workflow processes
  • Conduct regular reviews of SLAs, KPIs, procedures and checklists as it applies to TA support activities
  • Ensure prompt escalation of operational issues

Skills and Competencies:

  • A good understanding of the client service model, business strategy, structure and product offering.
  • Strong strategic leadership and thought process.
  • Strong risk, control and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, able to develop diverse teams.

Qualifications & Prior knowledge:

  • 8+ years of experience in a related role. Extensive experience in leadership role.
  • In-depth Transfer Agency operations and technology knowledge including the Financial Services regulatory environment.
