The Quality Inspector will plan, set-up and utilise a wide range of inspection equipment (e.g. portable coordinate measuring machine), processes, procedures, and applications to inspect all types of parts, assemblies, tools and fixtures.
The Quality Inspector will actively participate discussions across departments, Sales & Marketing / Operations / Customer Services, to review, install or modify equipment and procedures, ensuring deliverance on highest quality of products.
The position plays the role in maintaining the quality of Dedienne Aerospace’s products, therefore critical in upholding its brand and ethics.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings/blueprints and measure parts in accordance to specifications determining product acceptability
- Ability to visually and mechanically measure and inspect parts utilising inspection tools, i.e. Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine, OD & ID Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Brinell Hardness Testing Machine, etc.
- Ability to program and operate Portable Coordinate Measuring Machine to inspect parts received from suppliers
- Conduct training for other inspectors on the operation of the Coordinate Measuring Equipment and/or other inspection tools
- Ability to write reports on inspected parts
- Upkeep condition and reliability of inspection tools to be optimal for usage
- Work closely with the Operations Director on the introduction/phase out of inspection tools
- Ability to write reliability reports on inspection tools affecting inspection operations
- Verifying, by visual and technical inspection, all incoming goods in accordance to purchase order specifications and conformance with refining practices which requires positive material identification, testing and measuring, etc.
- Tagging all incoming material required for inspection and locating
- Locating all incoming stock and non-stock material to appropriate bin locations or specified storage areas after receipt verification
- Determining methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering commodity, dimension and weight limit, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space
- Pick requested stock material via electronic pick lists or verbal, emergency requests and delivering to specified areas manually, in accordance to weight/body limitations, order picker, or forklift
- Packaging of stock and non-stock material in accordance to specified procedures in preparation of shipping
- Stock taking in accordance with specified area procedures to assure accurate inventories
- Compiling reports based on discrepancies due to shortages, overages, damages, or system inaccuracies
- Requisitioning warehouse stock material or non-stock related inventory items periodically
- Assist in the planning, implementation and improvement of the warehouse and logistics operations
- Ability to write reports on discrepancies due to shortages, overages, damages, or system inaccuracies
- Ability to write or improve process flow reports on warehouse and logistics operations
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing / Operations / Customer Services on improvement to quality of products, processes and procedures
- In support of the Operations team, ensure products leaving the facility is in line with Dedienne Aerospace’s standards and meeting customers’ requirements
- Actively participate in regular meetings with Engineering Research & Development team, Sales Managers, Operations Managers and Customer Services Managers to ensure maximisation of cross department discussions
- Occasional business travel will be expected to fulfil the Quality Inspector role
- Incumbent to be situated in the Singapore facility
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
- And/Or at least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position
