Job Description:
Supervision and Coordination:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other staff on the job site.
- Ensure that work is carried out according to project specifications, plans, and schedules.
Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers follow proper safety procedures.
- Conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly.
Quality Control:
- Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Address any issues or defects promptly.
Project Planning:
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
- Report progress, issues, and any deviations from the plan.
Problem Solving:
- Identify and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise during construction.
- Provide solutions to problems in a timely and effective manner.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, materials used, and manpower hours.
- Prepare reports as required by project management.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Secondary school certificate or equivalent is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, with a proven track record of progressively responsible roles.
Minimum 5 years of previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
- Leadership Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate teams.
Ability to make decisions and solve problems on-site.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and workers.
- Safety Awareness:
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
- Organization and Planning:
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work long hours and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Possess a valid driving license.
