GENERAL FOREMAN/SUPERVISOR

Job Description:


Supervision and Coordination:


  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction workers, subcontractors, and other staff on the job site.
  • Ensure that work is carried out according to project specifications, plans, and schedules.

Safety Compliance:


Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all workers follow proper safety procedures.

  • Conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly.

Quality Control:

  • Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Address any issues or defects promptly.

Project Planning:


  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Communication:


  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
  • Report progress, issues, and any deviations from the plan.

Problem Solving:


  • Identify and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise during construction.
  • Provide solutions to problems in a timely and effective manner.

Documentation:


  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, materials used, and manpower hours.
  • Prepare reports as required by project management.

Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Secondary school certificate or equivalent is required.

  • Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, with a proven track record of progressively responsible roles.
    Minimum 5 years of previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role is required.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
    Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Strong leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate teams.
    Ability to make decisions and solve problems on-site.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and workers.
  • Safety Awareness:
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Organization and Planning:
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work long hours and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.
  • Possess a valid driving license.
