Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage processes related to patient’s admission, transfer, discharge & any other assigned clerical duties.
- Greet and attend to enquiries from patients, visitors and other department staff.
- Record and update patient’s admission, discharge, transfer details and patient’s subacute/rehabilitation status.
- Check and dispatch consumables, pharmaceuticals, other laboratory and x-ray investigation charges daily.
- Sort incoming documents and distribute to appropriate personnel in the ward.
- Check and dispatch duly summarised and completed case-notes and x-rays to Medical Record Office (MRO) within 72 hours of patient’s discharge.
- Follow up & arrange patient’s appointments and ambulance transportation, when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager.
Requirements:
- GCE ‘O’ level, with minimum of 3 credits including English.
- At least one year of clerical/secretarial experience in healthcare related field preferred.
- Familiarity with basic computer terminals is required.
