Job Purpose
The Regional Cash Sales Manager responsible for the promotion of cash management products and
services to Non-Japanese multinationals across the Asia Pacific region, to maximize relationship depth
and revenue growth.
Drive Sector Initiative with the aim of acquiring and/or deepening transaction banking relationship with strategic clients from identified key industry sectors.
Job Responisbilities
- Contribute to the growth of SMBC’s Transaction Banking business through the promotion of cash management solutions to Non-Japanese corporate clients across APAC and East Asia regions.
- Build and maintain relationship with clients and anticipate their requirements through consultative selling to increase SMBC’s wallet share.
- End-to-end ownership of clients from origination, advisory, solutioning, implementation to ad-hoc after-sales client enquiries/issues. Leverage on SMBC’s regional network, flow banking capabilities and digital initiatives to drive inbound/outbound transaction banking opportunities in APAC / East Asia.
- Work in partnership internal stakeholders across SMBC (including cash product management, relationship managers, operations, other product partners, etc) to provide quality and tailored transaction banking solutions to clients.
- Participate in account planning sessions to identify transaction banking opportunities, wallet size and execute against agreed plans.
- Where required, periodically travel to countries with in-country Sales Managers to meet clients.
- Participate in external and internal business events, exhibitions and seminar as required.
- Submit reports (monthly reports, business trip reports, call reports, etc.)
- Understand market trends / customer requirements and contribute to the bank’s product development / improvements.
Job Requirements
- Strong product knowledge of cash management solutions across different markets in Asia, including but not limited to payables, receivables, electronic banking and liquidity management.
- Experience in providing cash management solutions, tailored to specific industry sectors (e.g. real estate, TMT, healthcare, consumer, NBFI, etc). Knowledge of key industry trends and requirements for selected industry sectors/sub-sectors.
- Minimum 7 years and above experience within a cash management sales capacity.
- Ability to interact with customer across all levels – working level to senior management.
- Strong sales discipline including preparation of proposals, presentation materials of high quality.
- Demonstrate effective cross-sell mindset and experience.
- Familiarity with market trends and latest regulations in APAC / East Asia regions.
- Past experience handling large Asian Corporates and western MNC clients preferred
