Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Scientist/ Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic research team at Dave Wee’s Lab. Our lab focuses on advancing the field of RNA therapeutics, with a strong emphasis on translational research aimed at clinical applications, while also fostering foundational discoveries in the delivery of RNA therapeutics. Our core technology platforms include rational design of antisense oligonucleotides and the development of innovative in vitro and in vivo methods for real-time and high-throughput functional delivery of RNA therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Excellence: Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of RNA therapeutics, with a primary focus on the rational design of antisense oligonucleotides and innovative strategies for RNA therapeutics delivery.
  • Experimental Design and Execution: Plan and execute experiments to investigate the efficacy, safety, and mechanisms of RNA therapeutics in cellular and animal models. Utilize state-of-the-art techniques to achieve research goals.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and draw meaningful conclusions. Present findings at lab meetings, conferences, and in scientific publications.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other lab members, including graduate students and faculty, to drive interdisciplinary research projects and contribute to a vibrant scientific community.
  • Technology Development: Contribute to the development and optimization of our core technology platforms for antisense oligonucleotide design and in vitro/in vivo real-time delivery assays.
  • Translational Focus: Engage in research activities that have direct implications for the clinical application of RNA therapeutics, actively participating in discussions related to translational strategies.
  • Mentoring: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior lab members, including graduate students and research assistants, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline
  • A good background in RNA biology, nucleic acid therapeutics, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and animal models. Mouse and colony management experience is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with antisense oligonucleotide and nucleic acid delivery technologies is a significant advantage.
  • Proven track record of research productivity, including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
