Data Center Engineer (Facilities)
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the power supply and HVAC systems within the data center.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of the data center infrastructure.
- Perform remote hands services include tasks such as securing cabling, checking port numbers, observing, or reporting indicators on equipment, rudimentary observation of the environment, and server reboots.
- Respond and deal with emergency events in daily operation.
- Manage and oversee the Building Management System (BMS), promptly addressing and responding to any generated alerts.
- Ability to respond to issues and provide timely update, and escalation.
- Handle routine alarms and faults of power supply and distribution devices and HVAC systems.
- Maintain & update the relevant operation records, maintenance records, accident handling records and shift handover records.
- Maintain the environment cleanliness and temperature and humidity.
- Manage the safety appliances and instrumentation tools.
- Provide escort to visitors/ technicians to the Data Center room and witness the works that been carried out in the Data Center room.
- Have experience with supporting Data Centre related change and incident tickets.
- Adept with coordinating with multiparty stakeholders.
- Ensure all the compliance of all regulatory laws and company guidelines are met.
Requirements:
- Min of 2 years working experience in Data Center operations/ Data Center facilities maintenance. Candidate with more experiences will be considered for a senior position.
- Diploma or Degree in Computer science, IT systems, Electrical Engineering or any related field.
- Good understanding and hands-on experience on daily Data Center operations.
- Good level of understanding of Data Centre ecosystem e.g. power, cooling, temperature, humidity, fire prevention etc.
- Good level of experience in Capacity review e.g. rack assignment for equipment onboarding.
- Good level of experience in Physical Security operations (e.g Keys and access cards management, and Physical Access).
- Good level of experience in Rack and Stack.
- Good understanding and knowledge in data cabling, i.e. structured cabling, and patching is added advantage.
- Have experience with inventory management. i.e. Nlyte is added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in English for communication with business partners.
- Proficiency in local languages is added advantage.
- Able to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
