US MNC with multi-data centre sites across Asia Pacific region
- Objective: Build and maintain knowledge of development in data centre industry sustainability and energy performance technology
- Scope: Develop regional strategy and implementation of energy performance improvement and sustainability initiatives and projects across APAC regions
- Appraise and champion sustainability initiatives in existing and new data centre designs from an energy efficient and optimal perspective
- Define a documented and an auditable energy data collection methodology for each site based on existing energy data sources
- Drive improvement on existing data collection methodology and develop future metering initiative with regional and global teams
- Standardize periodic reporting across the regions
- Provide expertise, conduct site audits and work with site members to develop effective proposals and implement agreed action plans
- Provide coaching to sites in region(s) on executing energy and conservation initiatives
- Support sites in targeting of energy efficiency projects through annual CapEx budgeting process
- Collate all planned projects impacting energy performance into a central annual plan
Requirement
- Degree in relevant Engineering qualification with minimum 5 years of experience in similar capacity in a data centre / critical facilities system / high tech manufacturing environment
- Good knowledge of data centre sites operation and equipment such as UPS, generators, HVAC, fuel system, switch gears, transformers, cooling tower, humidification systems and so on
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and energy management systems (EMS)
- Familiarity with the principles of design, construction, engineering, and building regulations.
- Cross function project management skills leading multi-projects across the region with a clear passion for delivering environmental sustainability
- Proven ability to use data analysis and financial knowledge to build business cases
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels and work under pressure
- Holds certification as a Certified Green Mark Manager (GMM) or Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM)
- Certified Energy Auditor certification is preferred
- Ready and willing to travel frequently
