We are looking for an exceptional and dedicated educator to join our team as a Star Tutor specializing in lower secondary school science and upper secondary chemistry. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong background in these subjects and a passion for nurturing young minds. As a Star Tutor, you will be responsible for implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment among secondary school students.
Responsibilities:
- Implement engaging lessons for secondary school science that is in accordance with the lesson plans and aligned with the Singapore curriculum.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies and resources to make learning fun and accessible for our students.
- Provide personalized support and guidance to students to ensure a strong foundation in Science concepts.
- Foster a positive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes active participation and academic excellence.
- Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies to address individual learning needs effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on student progress, discuss areas for improvement, and encourage collaborative support for students' learning journeys.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in secondary science education, including curriculum changes and effective teaching practices, to deliver high-quality and relevant instruction.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to contribute to the overall development and enhancement of the school's academic programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant teaching certification is advantageous.
- A minimal of 2 years of teaching experience is required
- Demonstrated experience in teaching primary school Math and Science, preferably within the Singapore education system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with young students effectively.
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore secondary school science curriculum and an ability to integrate effective teaching strategies into the classroom.
