You are to report to the Operation Manager
As a Marine Officer, you are responsible for maintaining the strict discipline and conduct of the Berth Mooring and Shift Leaders / Foreman under your supervision. You are also to attend to their needs and immediate requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure co-ordination of work amongst the crew and the proper assignment of their duties.
- Co-ordinate closely with the Shift Leaders / Foreman of the respective Teams to provide continuity of services to our clients in case of breakdown of any vessels.
- Liaising with the clients and attending to their immediate requirements.
- Work in close co-ordination with the client so that mutual co-operation may be achieved in case of any difficult situation.
- Arrange for bunkers, lub oil, water and necessary consumables for the vessels and keep record in the log books
- keep records of the operations performed and the crew overtime incurred daily
- submit necessary reports and log sheets to inform the Management of the progress of the work
- attend necessary Safety Meetings accordingly
- attend staff meetings at the Head Office, when necessary
- inform your superior of any replacement vessel arranged to prevent disruption of service
- Should you encounter any mechanical problems with the vessels, you are to refer such matters to the respective Marine Superintendent in charge and keep the Operation Manager informed,
- You are required to liaise with the Marine Superintendent on dry docking preventive maintenance work and to keep the Operation Manager informed.
- To oversee the marine transportation service (Launch Service to SRC) as and when required.
- The training of the new Berth Mooring crew and Shift Leaders / Foreman and initial operations as well as final phasing in will be your responsibility.
- You are required to conduct spot checks on the crew to ensure that the relevant Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) are available and are worn.
- You are to assist another Officer/ Supervisor who may be on leave, ill, or absent due to reservist, etc. if deemed necessary by the Operation Manager
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by Management, eg Fire Fighting Craft Project.
Requirement :
- Minimum diploma with relevant experience
- Preferably have some ferry boat experience in Harbour vessels.
- Enjoy working outdoors.
- Willing to work on weekends/public holidays.
- Positive working attitude
- Good planning and organising skills
- Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Class 3 driving license preferable
