1. Main Responsibilities and Tasks
· Review and upkeep of company’s safety management system to maintain it up to date with new regulations and changing requirements in line with industry standards.
· To ensure that the third-party audits and inspections of the vessels are carried out to industry standards and to ensure proper and correct follow up and close out.
· To be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s HSEQ management systems training program along with the continuous review and monitoring of the effectiveness of training policies ashore and onboard.
· Conduct internal audits and inspections on board ships, these may be sailing visits.
· Monitor fleet safety and quality performance and determine indicators and trends through analysis of data from internal audits, navigation audits/assessments, PSC inspections, accidents/incidents, near miss reports and safety observations.
· Any other duties as appointed by the HOD or Managing Director.
2. Minimum Competence, Knowledge and Experience
1) Master Certificate/Class 1 Deck (Unlimited).
2) Five years combined Senior officer and Command experience on Oil/Chemical/Gas Tankers.
3) Shore Working Experience in a similar/related position in a Company Managing Oil/Chemical/Gas Tankers will be preferred.
4) Comprehensive knowledge of the Operation of a Ship Management System and the ISM Code.
