Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures in compliance with rules and regulations.
- Plan and implement training programs for HSEQ practices, fire prevention, and correct handling of hazardous materials.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure they follow safety standards and government regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, and complaints concerning potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
- Prepare reports on HSEQ activities, incidents, and accidents for management review.
- Promote safety awareness and foster a safety culture among employees.
- Ensure the company’s preparedness to respond to emergencies.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and local authorities as required.
- Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across the organization.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a HSEQ Executive or similar role in the marine industry.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety laws and industry regulatory codes.
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certification in occupational health and safety, such as a Professional Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health.
