Job Description:
- Developing new business across sizes and areas
- Managing existing clients
- Negotiations and fixing of charter parties
- Worldwide communication with satellite offices, brokers, agents, owners and charterers
- Following performance of voyages and work closely with Operations Department
- Traveling to meet new and existing Clients, as well as participating in various events
- Setting up and executing strategies fitting long term view of the Company
- Taking lead and ownership on new projects
Job Requirements:
- Must hold a Degree in Maritime Studies or related field; or alternatively completed a fixed term apprenticeship in Shipping
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential for this position
- Fluency in Japanese (spoken and written) is essential as position will need to work on the with the Japan Maritime market frequently
- Aptitude to negotiate and close business deals
- Must maintain strong problem solving skills and have the ability to think outside the box
- Experience on the Handy- and Supramax trade is required for this role
- Has to be adaptable to an international setting and willing to work overtime regularly
- A high level of open-mindedness and creativity is necessary for the success of the role
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients
- Expertise in international shipping and contract law is essential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
