We seek a Chartering Manager responsible for VLGC chartering and daily operation management.
The VLGC Chartering Manager will manage chartering operations for Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs), ensure efficient fleet utilization and revenue maximization, and foster strong relationships with charterers and brokers. This role requires a strategic approach to analyzing market trends, negotiating charter agreements, and coordinating vessel logistics to meet customer demands effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Work closely with Chartering PL to secure VLGC in delivering the cargo to the system.
• Ensure the smooth operation of TC, CVC, and spot VC vessels in connection with vessel operators
• Build and maintain robust relationships with charterers, brokers, and other stakeholders to secure business opportunities, gather market intelligence, and resolve issues effectively.
• Monitor global LPG and LNG shipping markets, analyzing supply and demand dynamics, freight rates, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
• Manage charter contracts throughout their lifecycle, including fixture negotiations, voyage instructions, demurrage claims, and dispute resolution.
• Demonstrate commercial acumen and adept negotiation skills to position the company during VLGC charter negotiations strategically.
• Independently handle VLGC charter negotiations, commercial disputes, CP contract management, and internal approval processes, and address chartering or operational inquiries effectively.
• Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required to support business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven track record of 7+ years in chartering operations for Very Large Gas Carriers or similar vessels, with a strong understanding of the LPG shipping market.
- Excellent negotiation skills and commercial acumen, with a track record of achieving favorable charter agreements and maximizing revenue.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data, financial reports, and operational metrics to support decision-making.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations, maritime law, and industry best practices.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of chartering professionals.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean, with strong written and verbal communication skills, are preferred
