Purpose of the Job:
- Plan, coordinate and execute programmes during Term and School Holidays.
- Provide students with a caring, stimulating environment to learn, close supervision and guidance during the after school hours and school holidays.
- Help students grow in all aspect of life - emotional, social, physical, intellectual and spiritual.
- Ensure the safety, security and well-being of students at all times.
- Be a responsible, good role model for the students & teachers.
Key Role/Job Function:
- Oversee day to day operation of the Centre and ensure its smooth running.
- Ensure good Centre performance by developing strategies that are in line with PCS’ vision and mission.
- Ensure teachers provide optimum level of guidance to students to complete their school homework responsibly.
- Mentor and supervise staff & teachers to ensure compliance to SOPs, safety, security and health standards.
- Provide a warm & nurturing environment to the students at the Centre.
- Supervise and guide students with their school work as well as life skills (play, hygiene and meal time).
- Plan and conduct child appropriate social and recreational activities and holiday programs.
- Teach & address classroom disciplinary issues using positive behaviour support system.
- Prepare/organise and execute/conduct creative learning activities and outings as required.
- Support the holistic development of students in alignment with PCS’ goals.
- Maintain regular communication with student’s parents.
- Establish partnership with community partners & volunteers.
- Foster good working relationship & rapport with all stakeholders - students, parents, team members, volunteers and partners in the community.

Programme
- Plan and implement effective student developmental programs for the Centre.
- Supervise and evaluate programmes in the Centre and ensure quality care and services are maintained.
- Provide constructive feedback / suggestions to immediate superior in relation to programmes and curriculum.
- Implement continuous improvement in the Centre’s programme
- Publish Centre newsletter
- Work closely with personnel appointed by management in integrating students with special needs
Staff
- Involve in staff recruitment, appraisal, conflict management, mentoring and welfare as well as manpower scheduling.
- Supervise, guide and evaluate staff though lesson observations.
- Brief, orientate and follow up on new staff in the Centre.
- Recommend and co-ordinate training needs of staff & teachers.
- Hold monthly staff meetings.
- Conduct in-house teacher training when necessary.
- Ensure staff maintain proper code of conduct.
Administration
On business management:
- Source, negotiate, and determine course fee for children enrichment program.
- Ensure optimum level of students enrolment and ensure profitability is beyond break even vs centre’s overhead expenses.
- To do strategic planning on publicity for enrolment & volunteerism.
- Ensure that licensing requirements are met at all times.
- Ensure that up to-date records (factsheet, centre’s enrolment, particulars of students and their parents, staff, medical and leave records, attendance of staff and students) are properly maintained.
- Ensure that records (petty cash, fee collection records, registration and withdrawals, subsidy applications etc) are properly maintained.
- Liaise with government agencies on operational matter namely, MCDS, HDB and Town Councils.
- Attend to & respond appropriately to public enquiries and complaints.
Finance
- Prepare centre budget with respect to the programme needs of the centre.
- Monitor budgetary costing and control of centre’s income and expenditure.
- Seek approval from superior for the procurement of materials and supplies.
- Prepare disbursement of petty cash expenses to staff and seek approval for disbursement of petty cash expense to self.
Accountabilities
- Uphold the vision and mission of PCS in any way possible including attending functions, meeting, training courses and carrying out projects as assigned by your immediate superior / management.
- Provide periodic reports to management.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in any discipline
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Fluent in English or Mother Tongue, both written and spoken
- Certificate in student care
- Good Classroom Management Skills
- Leadership, Business Management, Operations/Project Planning, Customer Service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Dedicated, reliable, creative, disciplined and able to multi-task
