Position Summary
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our Solution team in the APMEA region (Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa), to become the region's Subject Matter Expert for the targeted Point of Sale solution of our portfolio.
The candidate will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for solution portfolio management and pre-sales.
This client-facing position requires a deep understanding of requirements and business drivers for Toshiba’s products and solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and customize point-of-sale software solutions according to client specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, delivery and customer support to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during installation, configuration, and proof of concept phases.
- Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals and contribute to the product team to maintain installation guides, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting procedures accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for clients and business partners to showcase the capabilities and features of the point-of-sale software.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to point-of-sale systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on point-of-sale software solutions.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS
The successful candidate will possess expertise in the following areas:
- Proven experience with the Retail industry and general retail technologies
- Strong understanding of retail operations and business processes, particularly in the context of point-of-sale systems.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to facilitate and lead meetings.
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps)is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
