The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigation of ultrafast phenomena in ionized biomolecules in aqueous solution by femtosecond optical pump-probe spectroscopy and ab initio simulations.
- Operation and maintenance of an optical pump-probe spectroscopy setup
- Ab initio simulations using quantum chemistry software packages
- Data analysis and interpretation
- Preparation of manuscripts for scientific publication and technical reports for funding agency
- Supervision of undergraduate researchers
Job Requirements:
- B.Sc. with Honors in Chemistry or Physics
- Good knowledge of and practical experience in ultrafast optical pump probe spectroscopy (>1 year)
- Experience in the generation and manipulation of few-cycle laser pulses
- Experience in using quantum chemistry software packages for ab initio simulations
- High proficiency in data analysis with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Origin
