Research Scientist, Mass, Flow and Mechanical Cluster (NMC)

NMC is in search of an experienced scientist proficient in bunkering quantity (flow) measurement to spearhead the advancement of low carbon fuel flow quantity measurement technologies for bunkering. The chosen candidate will shoulder the responsibility of identifying industry gaps and proposing new R&D projects.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Identify industry gaps and propose new projects to address challenges within ammonia and H2 bunkering, encompassing quantity & quality measurement, safety, prevention measures, and bunkering operation protocols
  • Lead projects focused on studying and advancing low carbon fuel flow measurement technologies to build future measurement capabilities
  • Contribute to the development of metrology infrastructure within the mass flow & mechanical measurement domain
  • Participate in flow related standard committees and related technical working group


Job Requirements


Qualification & Field of Study


  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, Chemistry or a related field.
  • More than 5 years of experiences in fluid flow measurement and instrumentation, with a focus on low carbon fuel flow measurement


Other Requirements (e.g. Skills, Competencies)


  • Demonstrated experience in leading research projects, publishing research papers in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting findings at scientific conferences.
  • Proficiency in industry standards and regulations concerning fuel flow measurement and bunkering.
  • Proven expertise in developing and testing novel quantity (flow) measurement technologies, including ultrasonic, Coriolis, or electromagnetic flow meters.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
