Job Description

The Head of PMO, Technology Risk and Demand Management owns the strategic and operational backbone of a fast-growing Digital & Technology organisation, mandated to drive a game-changing transformation. Closely working together with IT and business teams, the successful applicant will set up and execute fit-for-purpose project management and change management for complex and time-critical initiatives. Across the entire IT project portfolio, the successful applicant will also implement pragmatic steering mechanisms to ensure strategic alignment and effective Execution. The incumbent will be the organisation lead on technology risk matters to technology functions, as well resolving technology risk issues and manage and support regulatory compliance effort. He/she will ensure continuity and governance in Demand Management, ensuring best of decisions on build vs buy, hire vs outsourcing and strategic partner management. Embedded into the Center of Excellence for Strategy, Transformation, Governance, Risk and Compliance, the mandate also includes ownership for PM capability building across the organisation. The role encompasses both leadership and development of a talented and driven team as well as individual hands-on contribution.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drive critical transformation projects and initiatives, mainly within core IT domains: systems, end-user services, network, systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity
  • Steer cross-functional teams, incl. both internal and external project members
  • Interconnect project delivery with change management • Lead and develop a powerful team of project managers
  • Establish and maintain project portfolio governance, including success metrics and effective monitoring and controlling
  • Establish and maintain a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within PMO
  • Develop and implement standardized project management methodologies, processes / tools and provide such a consistent framework to project managers to follow and utilize to plan, execute, and monitor their projects effectively and efficiently
  • Define project governance frameworks, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure, and change management
  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders, including, among others, project sponsors, to understand business objectives and priorities
  • Project Performance Monitoring, and Risk and Issue Management
  • Function as a consultant/advisor on risk & control or regulatory matters to technology units, as well as working with them to resolve technology risk issues and manage and support regulatory compliance effort
  • Ensure continuity and governance in Demand Management Framework and follow up on the 4 phases -Discovery, Planning, Execution and Steering- and their respective practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the control self-assessment activities, including conducting independent control testing where necessary or reviewing appropriateness of control descriptions
  • Support projects aimed at change management / risk mitigation, both in design and implementation phase, in alignment with other functions
  • Maintain security and risk governance through risk governance review meetings directly with the project
  • Provide support in risk mitigation actions, challenge relevant stakeholders in drafting quality remediation to ensure durable solutions, clear accountability, alignment with business priorities and projects
  • Support management in having a clear status of implementation and remediation in their areas of responsibility and ensure that they regularly report about the status of implementation and risk mitigation

Requirements

Who we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative disciplines
  • At least 10 years and above of industry experience
  • Possess professional consulting firm or in-house strategy, change management and project management experience a plus
  • Highly analytical and data savvy
  • Corporate finance experience a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of risk evaluation techniques and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of FMCG business processes, governance, compliance, risk management and controls
  • Ability to identify risks and assess adequacy of controls as well as recommending suitable control enhancements
  • Good appreciation of cyber risk management strategies/controls in the industry
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and able to manage stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  • Prior experience in delivering security awareness training within the organization
  • Strong critical thinker with the vision to work both tactically and strategically
  • High result orientation and future-oriented thinking; Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong team management skills, advanced cross-functional collaboration
