Summary/Objective
Reporting to the General Manager (Solution Services) of JERA Asia, the principal roles of Senior Manager (Solution Business) are to lead and/or support in energy solution services (promotion and execution) and technical business development related projects.
In energy solution services, the Senior Manager is to leverage JERA’s cutting edge technology, inhouse capabilities and comprehensive energy portfolios, to package tailor-made offerings (e.g. low carbon solution, digitalization, O&M) within Asia region, contributing to JERA group’s mission/vision.
For technical business development projects, Senior Manager will liaise with JERA internal departments & external parties (clients, authorities, partners, consultants, etc.), to perform business development related tasks (e.g. FS, due diligence, OE, EPC/OEM selection).
The day-to-day work involves close coordination and collaboration with related functions (e.g. overseas IPP departments in HQ, O&M, engineering, business development, EPC/OEM, technical consultants, etc.). The individual will work directly with the GM to prioritize projects and maximize value creation associated with those projects.
Essential Functions:
· Energy solution services (promotion and execution)
- Identify customers’ needs and promote energy services available within JERA (e.g. low carbon solution, plant O&M, digitalization, plant efficiency & reliability improvement, fuel supply chain, etc.).
- Work throughout the different phases of energy solution projects (e.g. exploration, identification, solution menu presentation, evaluation, negotiation, secure new opportunities & project implementation) in conjunction with the broader JERA teams.
· Technical Business Development:
- Coordinate and manage internal teams (country local setup, regional office and Japan HQ), technical consultants, OEMs, EPCs, O&M, engineering, authorities and other project stakeholders.
- Manage & ensure schedule in timely manner & project deliverables meet high quality standard.
- Recommendation/selection of equipment, engineering consultant and contractors.
Coordinate internal and external parties to minimize execution and operational risk in implementation of services solutions. Be instrumental in managing team resources to meet energy solution business plan and objectives
Competencies:
· Strong initiative and great comfort working in unstructured environments;
· Experience in project management with team members from matrix organization.
· Deep understanding of value creation in energy power assets and markets in the region;
· Experience in decarbonization – generation, storage, transportation and supply of H2, NH3, GT & boiler co-firing technology, etc.
· Experience in negotiate and execute key project technical documents associated with the development, construction and operation of energy assets – for example, tender RFQ and EPC contracts;
· Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and collaboration skills within large organizations and with broad multi-party outside organizations;
· Ability to summarize and present complex issues and opportunities into succinct and actionable terms;
· Ability to implement process within an interdisciplinary team setting;
· Ability to prioritize tasks to align with goals and effectively manage competing deadlines;
· Excellent organizational, presentation and verbal and written communication skills;

Required Education and Experience:
· University degree
· 15+years of experience in engineering, project developing, structuring, origination, asset management, EPC/OEM
· Familiarity in technical business/project development activities would be a strong advantage
Track record of plant operation, EPC/OEM of power industries, tendering, power plant consultancy / related services in Asia region
