Forbidden Hill is looking for a Jewellery Designer to join our growing team. This is the ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial person with ideas and creativity, as well as strong design skills. You will help to develop our unique jewellery collections, which feature exciting design innovations. Your role will involve conceptualising, designing and rendering jewellery designs, for new collections as well as expanding existing collections. You will have the chance to work across different areas of a dynamic business, including the potential for overseas travel.
We are an international team with an open culture. Our studio is in a shophouse in the vibrant neighbourhood around Keong Saik Rd. While prior experience is a plus, we are looking for the person with the best fit for our team and will provide the necessary training for any skills gap.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing jewellery designs for new and existing collections, including:
· Concept development through research and exploration, both on your own and in collaboration with other team members
· Fleshing out design concepts through hand-sketching and moodboards
· Creating models of selected designs and refining them using 3D design software
· Drafting detailed production guidelines for physical sample production
· Coordinating sample production with our workshops around the region
· Conducting quality checks of samples and drafting detailed feedback for production improvement, when required
• Creating high quality photorealistic renders of the designs (Software training will be provided if needed)
• Participating in trade shows and events to gather direct learnings from customers
For this role, we are looking for candidates with:
· Diploma or above in Jewellery or Product Design or related disciplines
· Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply, although prior experience is preferred
· Good hand-sketching ability
· Good command of written and spoken English
· Skills in the following software:
· Proficient in CAD Modelling Software (e.g. Rhino, Fusion 360, or other)
· Experience in Photoshop
· Experience in Illustrator would be a plus
· Experience in photo-realistic rendering software (e.g. Keyshot, Blender or other) would also be a plus
