We are seeking a skilled and experienced Trade Floor Desktop Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing technical support within a fast-paced trading environment, with expertise in resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues for trade floor users.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for trade floor users, including traders, analysts, and support staff.
- Install, configure, and maintain trade floor desktops, laptops, and peripherals, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including but not limited to operating systems, trading applications, market data feeds, and connectivity.
- Collaborate with trading desks, IT teams, and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues impacting trade floor operations.
- Monitor trade floor systems and infrastructure for performance and stability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Coordinate with IT teams to implement software updates, patches, and system upgrades during non-trading hours to minimize disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolution details in the ticketing system.
- Provide end-user training and documentation on trade floor technologies, applications, and best practices.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in desktop support, preferably in a trade floor or financial services environment.
- Strong technical skills in supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems, trading platforms, and market data systems.
- Experience with trade floor applications such as Bloomberg Terminal, Reuters Eikon, FactSet, and/or proprietary trading software.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and multicast.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with trade floor users and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or Bloomberg Essentials (BESS) preferred.
