RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal engineer associates in this role, function as information technology (IT) professionals serving as technical experts and participate in or oversee a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware, software, and network products in an information technology infrastructure environment. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing infrastructure services and users of those services, and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services.
Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance and support for the network services
- Experience working in LAN/WAN/WLAN/SDN/SD-WAN/IPS/ISE
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design network solutions that align with business objectives and ensure scalability, security, and performance
- Configure and optimize network devices to ensure seamless connectivity, data transmission, and network performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement necessary changes to optimize network performance and ensure high availability
- Implement network security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and monitoring tools, to protect the organization's data and systems
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Stay updated with emerging network technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Develop test cases and conduct proof of concept tests on new software and hardware prior to upgrade/deployment
- Able to perform as the role of Project Lead / Coordinator in project management for small to medium size projects or Service Requests
- Work closely with Project Manager / Service Delivery Manager to fulfil project deliverables and operational request
- Able to establish TAC cases with the principal vendor for complex problem until its resolved
- Able to work independently
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7 or more years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, and advanced in routing protocols such as (BGP, OSPF)
- Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting various network devices
- Knowledge of advanced multicast routing and QOS is a plus
- Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, Web proxy and VPN technologies
- Relevant network certifications such as CCNP. CCIE is a plus
- Solid understanding of network monitoring tools and protocols
- Experience with Software Define Network technologies such as Cisco ACI is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
