Job Description
- Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery
- Negotiate policies and contracts with various suppliers
- Issuing purchase order to suppliers
- Manage deliveries to confirm compliance with contracts
- Monitor stock levels and verify purchase requisitions
- Manage any damaged or defective goods from supplier
- Interact with the suppliers on a day to day basis.
- Review deliveries against the orders and track the status of any orders.
- Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports
- Maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers
- Perform cost down exercise to achieve cost down target
Requirement
- Min Diploma in Supply Chain management, Purchasing, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in a purchasing / buyer role in Precision Engineering Industry will be an advantage
- Experience on vendor sourcing practices will be an advantage
- Hands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Navision)
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Analytical and mathematical capabilities in order to compare prices and quantities and consider vendor contract terms
