We are seeking a reliable and experienced Logistics Driver to join our team. The Logistics Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and materials between locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the safety and security of the cargo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Goods Transportation:Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
Follow planned routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Loading and Unloading:Load and unload goods and materials onto and from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
Verify the accuracy of deliveries and obtain signatures or proof of delivery as required.
- Vehicle Maintenance:Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on company vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the logistics manager promptly.
- Safety Compliance:Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and safety standards while operating company vehicles.
Maintain a clean driving record and operate vehicles safely and defensively at all times.
- Route Planning:Plan and optimize delivery routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
Familiarize yourself with delivery locations and routes to ensure efficient navigation.
- Communication:Communicate effectively with the logistics team to coordinate deliveries and address any issues or delays.
Provide regular updates on delivery progress and any deviations from the planned schedule.
- Customer Service:Provide courteous and professional service to customers during deliveries.
Assist with unloading and unpacking goods as needed and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspection reports.
Complete delivery documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a driver, preferably in a logistics or delivery role.
- License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Additional endorsements may be required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy loads and perform manual labor as needed.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow instructions accurately.
- Navigation Skills: Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps to optimize routes.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
