Background:
JSC Novatek is the largest private owned gas company in Russia. Today it is the major shareholder of Yamal LNG project, Arctic LNG 2 and also is a shareholder and offtaker of the small-scale LNG plant in Vysotsk. The LNG production is expected to grow rapidly with upcoming LNG projects.
Novatek Gas and Power Asia Pte. Ltd. is the trading company for JSC Novatek’s LNG with fast growing LNG volume to trade and deliver that is looking at expand its business in Asia.
Job Description
Candidate must be well informed about the latest LNG industry practice, have good experience in drafting and supporting performance of long-term LNG SPAs, spot LNG transactions and be able to work closely with commercial team in order to find solutions in the challenging environment and implement them in the well thought agreements. This is a temporary contract role for maternity cover.
Responsibilities:
· Draft and review long-term and short-term sales and purchase agreements for LNG;
· Draft all transactional documents associated with LNG sales;
· Identify risks and propose alternative structures to reduce risks exposure in prospective transactions;
· Support long-term and short-term sales and purchase agreements negotiations by commercial teams;
· Explain application of legal terms, give legal advice and perform legal research;
· Identify legal risks and providing solutions for them in executed documents;
· Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect LNG industry.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Laws from a recognized university with about 10 years relevant working experience;
· Admission to practice English law is an advantage;
· Ability to speak Russian is an advantage;
· Minimum 5 years of experience in LNG industry;
· Excellent English;
· Excellent negotiating and drafting skills;
· Understanding and knowledge of commercial and corporate law;
· Strong communication and presentation skills.
