We are currently working with a fast-expanding food manufacturer who is looking to hire a Business Development Manager to be based in Singapore.
If you have at least 5 years of sales experience within the Food/ Ingredients industry, and have a strong network of customers/ suppliers within Asia, this role could be for you!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Market Research and Client Procurement for Food Ingredients:
- Market Research: Conduct a thorough market analysis to identify potential clients interested in purchasing food ingredients.
Utilize industry reports, surveys, and consumer trends to understand the current landscape. - Client Procurement: Develop a targeted outreach strategy to connect with potential clients.
Utilize social media, industry events, and networking to reach out and create relationships.
2. Brand Partnerships for Contract Manufacturing:
- Identify Potential Partners: Research and identify companies that align with your values and objectives for contract manufacturing collaborations.
Evaluate their manufacturing capabilities, reputation, and sustainability practices. - Negotiation and Collaboration: Reach out to potential partners, initiate discussions, and negotiate terms.
Draft clear contracts outlining expectations, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
3. Corporate Clients for Contract Production:
- Network and Outreach: Leverage industry connections and network with corporate clients seeking contract production of food ingredients.
Showcase the benefits of your services in terms of quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
4. Investment Team Contribution:
- Focus on Food Ingredients: Stay updated on the latest developments in the food ingredients market.
Provide insights to the investment team on potential investment opportunities in the sector. - Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments, assessing both short-term and long-term prospects.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Data Analysis: Collect relevant data on market trends, competitor performance, and consumer preferences.
Utilize analytical tools to interpret the data and derive meaningful insights. - Report Preparation: Prepare comprehensive reports detailing the business and financial viability of alternative opportunities.
Provide clear recommendations to the management based on the analysis.
6. Feedback Gathering and Competitor Analysis:
- Market Feedback: Establish channels for gathering feedback from clients and the market.
Use feedback to make continuous improvements to products and services. - Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitors' activities and market positioning.
Offer insights to the business lines for strategic decision-making.
7. Client Presentations and Strategy Formulation:
- Presentation Skills: Develop compelling presentations showcasing our products, contract manufacturing capabilities, and investment opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Formulate strategies for approaching clients and explore new business opportunities within the region.
8. Sales Strategy and Process Optimization:
- Sales Strategy: Identify trends in the market and develop innovative ideas to enhance sales strategies.
Implement strategies that align with organizational goals. - Process Optimization: Continuously analyze results and implement improvements to optimize overall processes.
Ensure that sales and production processes are efficient and aligned with business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field.
- Demonstrate a background in the Food industry
- Working with Food Ingredients will be an added advantage.
- Proficient and adaptable in preparing PowerPoint presentations.
- Exhibit outstanding communication skills, enabling effective interaction both internally and with external organizations.
- Prior experience in sales and marketing is highly encouraged.
