What is the role?
We are seeking a Junior Engineer, to support our Green Technologies business. This role will be responsible for taking the technical supporting role to develop/ensure technical integrated system solution for the power, control and monitoring system in the EV charging and Renewable industry. These shall also include integration of backend infrastructure and downstream control/monitoring devices for EV network and microgrid network in Singapore as well as across all renewable industry sectors in which Yinson Green Technologies (YGT) operate in Asia.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Role as Junior Project Engineer, Assistant Project/Sale Manager for renewables, power systems and EV infrastructure technologies industry.
- Study technical specifications or requirements, etc. and provide schematic/system overview design, develop electrical single line diagrams, generate bill of materials, write-up technical proposals, schedule planning, slides proposals and any other technical documents to support technology and business segments.
- Assist to develop technical specification requirements for EV charging, Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System, Integrated Renewable Energy Solution, Switchgears interconnection according to technology and business segment’s strategy and requirements.
- Assist in evaluating the power system design integration for electric land and sea transportation, charging system, microgrid system integration without compromising on the Information Technology/ Operational Technology IT/OT convergence profile.
- Perform, execute & attend all site meetings and assessment and formulate solution based on site condition and operation requirement through checklist template, engineering design calculations, drafting, conduct proposal/slides presentation to the team.
- Assist in sourcing of multiple vendors, suppliers, and partners for product/technical solution and proposal. Prepare and present Technical Bid Evaluation and Commercial Bid Evaluation to achieve an impartial selection process and outcome.
- Assist to explore and conduct and report feasibility studies for new technologies, example EV chargers, AC/DC microgrids, fuel cells, rural electrification, 2nd life batteries and inverters/ converters, zero carbon technologies as new innovative businesses or technological edge.
- Ensure adherence to relevant scope of work, codes, best practices, QA/QC policies, regulatory and performance standards.
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, and handle communication with all parties involved.
- To develop simple tools and constantly improving tools to assist the team to achieve efficiency for operational engineering work.
- Collect operational data from live systems to conduct analysis and evaluate developed tools in the market to increase efficiencies.
- To assist/interact with teams from different regions and functions, including R&D from academic and research institutes, to evaluate new technologies for deployment on projects.
- To perform technical analytical problem-solving skills to overcome system electrical/control/monitoring challenges, identify cost effective technical solutions, conduct, and ensure successful hands-on testing on integrated system solution software/hardware, network, communication protocols (Modbus, IEC 101, IEC 103, IEC 104, IEC 61850, OCPP, etc.) in Test Laboratory.
- To assist, oversee and ensure the successful execution on projects. Responsible to assist for planning, executing, closing projects, while in parallel ensuring all project tasks and activities meet objectives, stay on budget, and complete within specified timeline.
- Ensure all documentation are properly filed.
- Report as a technical expert in renewables, power systems and EV infrastructure technologies to Lead Power System Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Fresh graduate, preferably minimum of 1-2 years of experience in project management, vendor management, hands-on testing and engineering design calculation.
- AutoCAD Drafting (2D/3D).
